Betsey N. Cabot of Hartland, Vermont, maintained this friendship album between 1835 and 1838, collecting manuscript poems signed by friends and family in the region. The volume also includes a small watercolor painting of flowers, a newspaper clipping, a clipping of red hair, two examples of hairwork, and one letter to Eliza Bradstreet written January 4, 1832, by a man who may have been courting her. Paper staining suggests other examples of hairwork were previously included but are no longer extant.
