Causes of death include apoplexy, pneumonia, tuberculosis, cancer, cholera, gastritis, meningitis, accidents, drowning, heart failure and disease, still birth and injuries sustained during birth, senility and old age, and various other medical conditions. At least 21 deaths were related to railroad and train accidents.
