"Joan the wife of Jo:Stowe of Hull sworne sayth that she knoweth Purnell the wife of Jo:Bartoll & did come over in the shippe with her, & she sayth that her carriage was vere light, & havinge her Cabin near this attestant, she did once or twice rise in the night from her children & they would crye in her absence; & she was verye familiar with the Boatswain & would oft. sitt drinking tobacco wth him: & this is the worst that this Attestant did see or knowe by her."

Peters wrote this letter to his friend and colleague John Winthrop in New England, encouraging him to return with his family to London, where life in the Cromwellian Commonwealth is good.

Petition to relieve Gookin of child support for Hannah Stevenson's bastard child, which he claims is not his. This manuscript is accompanied by Daniel Gookin ADS to John Spring, et al., [Cambridge], 1p.; 1673 January 28, an order to appear in court.

Written in French. Contract for the temporary employment of Raphael Beauvais and Nicolas Godé. The men were hired to spend a year in the land of the Ottowas trading on behalf of Perrot and his partnership. Contract stipulates that payment will be made in beaver skins at the current rate of the bureau in Quebec. Perrot’s partnership was financially responsible for living expenses during this year. Contract states that they may bring a gun, six shirts, two hats, and pelts which they may trade for their own profit. Signed by notaire Antoine Adhémar, N[icholas] Perrot, Raphael Beauvais, and Nicolas Godé as well as witnesses Louis Dupied (dit Le Parisien) and Claude Pinard. Addendum dated August 27, 1689.

Notes Moore is purported to be "excellently well qualified for this undertaking" and has "the greatest Recommendation." Jurin requests Paul Dudley's "protection and assistance" during Thomas More's planned visit.

Bill of sale for Beck, an enslaved girl, 15 years of age, from Samuell Conyer of Bermuda to Samuell Talcott of Hartford County, Connecticut, "to have and to hold the said negro girl during the term of her natural life" for the sum of 82 pounds.
