Copied titles include: Accommodating Uncle, The Last Rose of Summer, The Privilege of Service, Memory Gems, Evening, Jack Frost, All Must Work, On the Way, The Lenten Call, and Little Yawcob Strauss. The entry for "Leedle Yawcob Strauss," possibly about a Jewish or immigrant boy, is written in mocking dialect.

Blakely account book, 1785-1793

This account book consists of financial documentation for a man (likely a merchant) who operated out of Baltimore and New York. The entries range from 1785 to 1793. Included in the volume are accounts relating to fabrics, household goods, seemingly high-end dishware and glasses, and occasional payments for tuition for Harry Blakely and Aurelia Blakely, including at a boarding school in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Several references in the volume relate to African Americans (ex. p. 8, "pd. Yr. order to negro Tom," and engagements with the ship Adventure to South Carolina, St. Lucia, Curacoa, Lisbon, and others. Some accounts are pertinent to the New York Society Library (p. 82) and the purchase of books.

The album (15 x 23 cm) has black leather covers. Three labels are present inside the front and back covers including two from real estate broker William H. Hoyt, the album's presumed former owner. Many images include inscribed captions. The majority of images are exterior and interior views of buildings as well as landscape views while several portrait photographs are also present. Images of interest include views of the main entrance of the farmhouse, living and dining rooms, farmland being worked, the coach barn and southeastern grounds, a supplemental cottage, the farm barn, farm animals, the 500-ton ice house, the milk plant, the cow stables, a man bottling milk, and a group portrait of ten men (nine of whom are wearing white uniforms).

The album (16 x 19.5 cm) has leather covers with the word “Photographs” stamped on the front in gold. A loose card is included that provides explanatory information and corresponding page numbers for each photograph in the album. Most of the photographs are outdoor scenes with groups of people. Images of note include views of Park Street in Boston looking towards the capitol building, the 1867 suspension bridge, Ether Monument and Washington Monument in the Boston Public Gardens, the Boston Public Waterworks from Beacon Street in Chestnut Hill, a fisherman, an old whaling ship in New Bedford, Plymouth-area monuments, cemeteries, and downtown, and two people in a carriage in front of the Egypt Train Depot in Scituate, Massachusetts. Also present is a cyanotype postcard of a young woman sitting and reading with “Miss Mary E. Black/Eggemoggin, Maine” written on the back.
