Two photographically illustrated books documenting Montrose Township, Michigan, with photographs by Charles F. Haight. Contains text describing early history of Montrose Township including important citizens, businesses, and community members who served in the Civil War and Spanish American War, as well as images of streets, storefronts, landmarks, a bridge, fairgrounds, churches, hotels, schools, and private residences with family members posing in front. Volumes A and B each contain 36 photographs and are nearly identical except for several images printed from alternative negatives while there are also differences in the residences that are profiled. Volume A also contains 12 loose images. Includes 84 photographs. Volumes 18 x 24 cm.
Views of Maccabee Temple and Offices, 1900
Photograph album documenting the Maccabee Temple in Port Huron, Michigan, headquarters of the Knights of the Maccabees and Ladies of the Maccabees. Contains exterior and interior views of the temple as well as images of office spaces with people working (mostly women). Also present are numerous images of filing rooms lined with drawers and office supplies. Includes 54 photographs. Volume 30.5 x 38.5 cm.
Unidentified family postcard album, ca. 1900-1920
Postcard album compiled by an unidentified family containing commercial and amateur real photo postcards. Contents consist of numerous portraits of men, women, couples, children, dogs, and family groups as well as group portraits of sports teams (including men's baseball, soccer, and basketball teams and women's basketball teams), school groups and various clubs, and views of streets, residences, and buildings in Michigan cities such as Lakeview, Edmore, Morely, Alma, and Stanton. Also present are images of people partaking in leisure activities like boating, fishing, deer hunting, swimming, and cycling, an image of Alma College, and five images of a young man with an airplane (two of which show the plane flying). Includes approximately 156 real photo postcards. Volume 23 x 17 cm.
