The Background Information series (3 folders) is made up of two subseries, Articles and publications and Founders' biographies. The Articles and publications subseries is comprised of a file containing clippings and press releases on LTC activities and a folder entitled "Conservation Easements in Northern Michigan: An Information Packet for Landowners." This subseries also contains the LTC quarterly newsletter Update, which contains useful articles on LTC projects, education initiatives, and short biographies of its leaders and prominent members. The Founders' biographies subseries consists of biographical sketches written by John Rohe, an LTC member who is currently working on a biographical book on John Tanton, and Sally Bund, LTC member and archivist at the University of Michigan's Bentley Historical Library.

The Background Materials series, (.10 linear feet, 1967-1999), includes a curriculum vitae with a chronological list of Sparling's choreographic works through the year 1999, a journal written while he was on tour in the Soviet Union in 1973, news clippings, and other biographical materials.

The Bills and Legislation series (9.5 linear feet) includes bills, resolutions, requests, correspondence and other related materials from 2001 to 2010. The bills are numbered in chronological order.

The Biographical series documents the custody battle over Jessica from Robby DeBoer's point of view. The series includes drafts of DeBoer's autobiography Losing Jessica as well as tape transcripts where Robby DeBoer gives a detailed account of her two year fight to keep Jessica.

The Biographical series (0.25 linear feet) consists of personal documents, such as Jessye's Equity contract, a sparsely notated travel diary, as well as personal reflections and notes on a range of topics including her experiences performing Porgy and Bess and memories of touring and traveling the world.
