Audiovisual materials, archived web content, and other files pertaining to films produced by Sue Marx, a prolific documentary filmmaker who operated her own studio in Detroit between 1980 and 2011. Collection includes completed documentaries in analog and digital form, raw footage in various audiovisual formats, production background information, scripts, and transcripts, among other items.

Materials in the Sue Marx papers, which primarily consist of audiovisual formats, address Marx's career as a filmmaker after leaving network broadcasting, spanning more than two decades of documentaries and advertisements created by Marx's eponymous production company. While the collection includes polished versions of various films, including Marx's Academy Award-winning short subject "Young at Heart," the bulk of the analog and digital materials contain raw footage from which Marx later constructed her completed documentaries and promotional pieces. Also included are files containing background research materials, production releases, scripts, transcripts of interviews, and audio files.

The album (18 x 26.5 cm) is lacking covers but the spine remains partially intact. Images of note include views of a militia camp showing men in uniform relaxing and completing drills, the Bethesda Fountain and the John Quincy Adams Ward Seventh Regiment National Guard, State of New York Memorial in Central Park, men in a store selling hosiery, a group of people in front of a series of changing rooms on a dock, the construction of a sawmill, and a trip in the summer of 1894 to an unidentified lake.

Susan W. Kaufmann served as the Associate Director for Advocacy at the University of Michigan's Center for the Education of Women. The collection documents her involvement with the Ann Arbor Mayor's Task Force on Increasing Safety for Women, later the Washtenaw County Coalition on Gender Violence and Safety, and her research on the potential impact of the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative (also known as Proposal 2). The material includes extensive research and press clippings related to the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative, in addition to copies of presentations, correspondence, and other material related to Proposal 2.

The Susan W. The collection contains materials collected by the University of Michigan Symphony Band Tour members during the Band's international tour through the Soviet Union, Eastern Europe and the Near East, February through June, 1961. Also, materials created during the 2011-2012, and 2019 Band reunions. Collection materials include clippings, correspondence, photographs, video recordings, programs, and scrapbooks.

The collection is composed of four series, the content of which includes clippings, correspondence, photographs, programs, and scrapbooks. The 1961 Tour series contains materials created and collected during the tour. A small amount of material is related to the 1981 and 1984 reunions. The 50th Anniversary Reunion and Return to Russia Tour series contains materials created and collected during the 2012 reunion tour to Moscow and St. Petersburg. One folder containing obituaries. The final series documents the 58th anniversary reunion, held at the University of Michigan in 2019.

The Taylor family papers consist of correspondence Barton Stout Taylor, Methodist clergyman; diaries of his wife, Elizabeth Gurney Taylor, detailing her everyday activities; papers of Ralph Wendell Taylor, alumnus of University of Michigan and teacher in the Philippine Islands, 1901-1908; and other family materials. Reform Jewish temple located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Temple Beth Emeth shares facilities with St. Clare's Episcopal Church. Minutes of board and congregational meetings; publications include history of the temple and service bulletins; subject files relate to community involvement and issues; and visual materials.

The records of Temple Beth Emeth document the founding and growth of the Ann Arbor reformed congregation. The records include minutes of board and congregational meetings; publications, including history of the temple and service bulletins; subject files relating to community involvement and issues; and photographs.

The record group has been separated into seven series: Administrative; Leadership; Temple Organizations; Topical files: History, Membership, and Miscellaneous; Congregational Life; Genesis and Audio-Visual.

This collection was compiled by Maria C. Lanzar-Carpio for use in researching her doctoral dissertation, "The Anti-Imperialist League" (University of Michigan, 1928). It includes a typescript carbon copy of the dissertation, as well as three letters to Lanzar-Carpio. The bulk of the collection consists of the papers of Erving Winslow (1839-1922), Secretary of the Anti-Imperialist League (Boston, Mass.), and the papers of Herbert Welsh (1851-1941), vice president of the Anti-Imperialist League representing Philadelphia. These include the organization's record books and correspondence with League members, U.S. politicians, and the press.

A large portion of this collection (765 items) was given to Lanzar-Carpio by Herbert Welsh, activist and vice president of the Anti-Imperialist League representing Philadelphia. This portion consists chiefly of correspondence and documents relating to efforts opposing American imperialism in the Philippines. Materials include records regarding the Anti-Imperialist League's efforts to document American atrocities, especially the cruel use of the "water cure," an inquiry into the death of Private Edward C. Richter, as well as Herbert Welsh's 1903 demand for the publication of General N. A. Mile's report on conditions in the Philippines. Also included is correspondence regarding organizational matters of the League, fundraising, the editorial management of City and State, other causes, and personal affairs. In addition to Welsh's personal collection, interspersed are an undetermined number of transcripts made by Lanzar-Carpio from original documents held elsewhere (cf. her dissertation, p. 9-10 and 269).

Erving Winslow, Secretary of the Anti-Imperialist League, provided Lanzar-Carpio with the organization's Record Books in five volumes, as well as a collection of papers and correspondence (597 items). Correspondence concerns the activities of the Anti-Imperialist League, especially related to Philippine independence, and chiefly includes Erving Winslow's outgoing letters as well as letters to him from members of the League's executive committee, along with letters from members of the U.S. Congress; U.S. and Philippine officials; representatives of public interest groups and the press; and other papers.

They include references to agriculture, literature and prominent figures (e.g. Lord Byron, Cowper, Louis Napoleon, Victor Emmanuel, Pope Leo, Shakespeare, Ivanhoe, Bunyan, and John G. Saxe), military culture, technology (iron steamers, railroads), race, gender, and geography.

Answers reveal contributors' favorite items, their tastes in music and literature, their opinions on admirable and detestable personality traits in men and women, as well as their beliefs about transportation, great reforms, follies, and wonders of the world.

Boland Book & Stationery Co., [1895]), which has a pictorial cloth cover showing a female figure and flowers. Entries between 1894 and 1895 were filled in by individuals residing in Louisville and Danville, Kentucky; Pleasant Hill, Kansas City, Harrisonville, and Hughesville, Missouri; and Kansas City, Kansas, while the later entries from 1910 to 1972 were written by those residing in Forney and Wichita Falls, Texas. Answers reveal contributors' favorite items, their tastes in music and literature, their opinions on admirable and detestable personality traits in men and women, as well as their beliefs about transportation, great reforms, follies, and wonders of the world. Varying beliefs and prejudices are reflected, including those relating to women's rights, immigration, race (in particular against those of Mexican descent), and politics. Common answers celebrating emerging technologies, inventors, and historical figures, such as Thomas Edison and Robert E. Lee, indicate broader social phenomena.

This collection of Roosevelt manuscripts was assembled mainly by Paul V. Bunn, who first came to Roosevelt's attention in 1893 as a civil service examiner when Roosevelt was commissioner. A fervent admirer of Roosevelt, Bunn was a St. Louis hardware dealer and secretary of the local Chamber of Commerce. In 1912 Roosevelt described him as an old and valued friend, and a 'foursquare North Carolina ex-Democrat.' Carbon copies of Bunn's letters to Roosevelt and Roosevelt's usually brief replies are included.

Additional Roosevelt letters are addressed to William Rockhill Nelson, publisher of the Kansas City Star; William H. Moody, United States Attorney General and Supreme Court justice; and Henry B. Needham, journalist and special commissioner to investigate conditions in the Canal Zone in 1908. The remainder of the collection is a group of miscellaneous letters and notes related to Roosevelt's career as civil service commissioner, governor of New York, assistant secretary of the navy, president, and presidential candidate in 1912.

One distinct group of materials is the contents of a (disbound) scrapbook kept by U.S. Representative from Indiana James McClellan Robinson (1861-1942) and his wife Lillian Robinson (1872-1939). They include printed tickets (untorn) and a program for the Presidential inauguration of March 4, 1901; an invitation and program to the Presidential inauguration of March 4, 1905; two invitations for Mr. and Mrs. Robinson to receptions at the White House, 1904; two invitations/cards for visiting Mrs. Roosevelt "At Home"; a typed signed letter from Cornelia Cole Fairbanks (1852-1913) to Lillian Robinson, December 31, 1902; a card with mourning borders from Mary Simmerson Cunningham Logan (1838-1923) to Lillian Robinson inviting her to attend a National Theatre performance "Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch" to benefit the Garfield Hospital, February 17, 1903; and a calling card of "Liliuokalani. of Hawaii" (Queen Lili'uokalani [1838-1917]), inviting the Robinsons to attend a musicale at the Ebbitt House, Washington, D.C., May 1902.
