Special Events, Symposiums and Promotional, 1989-1999

Online

OVPR Special Events, Symposia, and Promotional (3 linear feet) includes the records of various OVPR-sponsored symposia and lecture series relating to national research policies and priorities, as well as those of OVPR presentations and functions. The Year of Humanities and Arts (YoHA) files come mostly from Julie Ellison, Professor of English and Associate VP for Research (specializing in the Arts and Humanities) at the time (1996-1998). The rest of the files come mostly from Lee C. Katterman, the OVPR Senior Science Writer. Where noted, a (VHS) video of the event is also in the OVPR files. This series also includes the files for the Michigan Arts and Humanities Awards (1 linear foot).

The 2009 addition to the series includes two subseries: Distinguished Lecture Series, 1994-1999; and Wiesner Symposium, 1996-1999. Both subseries are organized chronologically, and include articles on the events, posters, copies of lecture and/or remarks form the events, and several of the files include photographs.
