The album (18 x 26.5 cm) is lacking covers but the spine remains partially intact. Images of note include views of a militia camp showing men in uniform relaxing and completing drills, the Bethesda Fountain and the John Quincy Adams Ward Seventh Regiment National Guard, State of New York Memorial in Central Park, men in a store selling hosiery, a group of people in front of a series of changing rooms on a dock, the construction of a sawmill, and a trip in the summer of 1894 to an unidentified lake.

This volume, titled "The Conundrum Crop for 1859," is a blank book containing 36 handwritten riddles and their answers. They include references to agriculture, literature and prominent figures (e.g. Lord Byron, Cowper, Louis Napoleon, Victor Emmanuel, Pope Leo, Shakespeare, Ivanhoe, Bunyan, and John G. Saxe), military culture, technology (iron steamers, railroads), race, gender, and geography.

Entries between 1894 and 1895 were filled in by individuals residing in Missouri, Kentucky, and Kansas, while the later entries from 1910 to 1972 were written by those residing in Texas. Answers reveal contributors' favorite items, their tastes in music and literature, their opinions on admirable and detestable personality traits in men and women, as well as their beliefs about transportation, great reforms, follies, and wonders of the world.

Boland Book & Stationery Co., [1895]), which has a pictorial cloth cover showing a female figure and flowers. Entries between 1894 and 1895 were filled in by individuals residing in Louisville and Danville, Kentucky; Pleasant Hill, Kansas City, Harrisonville, and Hughesville, Missouri; and Kansas City, Kansas, while the later entries from 1910 to 1972 were written by those residing in Forney and Wichita Falls, Texas. Answers reveal contributors' favorite items, their tastes in music and literature, their opinions on admirable and detestable personality traits in men and women, as well as their beliefs about transportation, great reforms, follies, and wonders of the world. Varying beliefs and prejudices are reflected, including those relating to women's rights, immigration, race (in particular against those of Mexican descent), and politics. Common answers celebrating emerging technologies, inventors, and historical figures, such as Thomas Edison and Robert E. Lee, indicate broader social phenomena.

The Traveling photographers collection contains approximately 245 examples of photographs produced by various traveling photographers that operated in the United States primarily during the latter half of the 19th-century.

Works by approximately 145 different traveling photographers are present in this collection and include cartes de visite, cabinet cards, stereographs, tintypes, and a small number of larger format images. For many of these photographers there is only a single example of their work included in the collection. Locations of operation include a wide range of regions across the United States, with eastern states such as Pennsylvania being particularly well-represented. Most of these photographs are typical individual and group portraits of men, women, and children.

The collection has been divided into two volumes. Volume 1 contains cartes de visite and tintypes while Volume 2 contains cabinet cards, stereographs, and a few other images with larger mounts of varying sizes. Volume 1 also includes two clippings and one photocopied page from an article about traveling photographers written by Eaton S. Lothrop, Jr., for Popular Photography magazine as part of his "Time Exposure" column series.

The poem is written in a blank book bound with red, white, and green braid, and pages featuring printed decorative borders of holly. The volume also features six watercolor illustrations depicting Santa, the elves, and the gifts in the stockings. The cover bears the title and painted holly and leaves.

An inscription on inside front cover reads "A merry Christmas from Hazel."

Volume one (33.5 x 26.5 cm) contains approximately 150 snapshots that primarily consist of images of street scenes, Chinese laborers, construction projects, and American, Chinese, and British soldiers at work and posing in front of buildings. Of particular note are extremely graphic images of Chinese men being executed at large public events. Also present is a clipping from Popular Mechanics regarding a hotel in Honolulu being converted into an army Y.M.C.A., a program from Christmas 1919 including the dinner menu and roster of "Headquarters Company, 15th U.S. Infantry," and a series of family photographs of unidentified men, women, and children on a farm presumably back in the United States.

Volume two (27 x 34.5 cm) contains approximately 47 snapshots. Contents consist of images documenting daily life activities of Chinese people including parades and street scenes as well as views of flooding, American soldiers, and military facilities. Also present is a clipping dated to 1927 from the Attleboro Sun regarding executions in China.

Both volumes appear to have sustained fire damage and are accordion-style fold out albums composed of heavy cardstock encased in brown covers with "Album" stamped in gold on the front.

Others include a dog holding a guitar, a quill pen, a G.A.R card, and an "Imp Card" showing a devil holding a sign to read "I AM ___ WHO THE [DEVIL] ARE YOU."

A "Gold Escort" card has the text "I beg the blissful felicity of being honored with your gracious condescension to the extent of allowing your humble servant to escort you to your leafy bower this balmy eve. Say yes, fair lady!"

Images of note include several photographs of grade school boys in a classroom dated to 1903-1905 as well as views of dormitory, library, and classroom interiors, what appears to be the Cedar River, a campus building under construction, and the college grounds during the winter of 1903-1904.
