The Voice of Reason (VOR)/Americans for Religious Liberty (ARL) subseries illustrates Wine's role in the organization and operation of a group intended to combat the rise of right-wing fundamentalism in the early 1980s. The files cover the organizations administration and activities as well as correspondence, clippings, and newsletters.
The Other subseries contains information related to the 27 other organizations with which Wine was involved (to varying degrees) over the course of his life. The contents are highly diverse and include religious, social, professional, and humanistic organizations; notable groups include the International Association of Humanist Educators, Counselors, and Leaders (restructured in 1993) and Scientists and Citizens United (founded by Wine not long before his untimely death).
