Describes last few engagements in the Philadelphia area before Washington sets up winter quarters at Valley Forge. Copies of contemporaneous maps of the area included in folder.

British eyes would be opened to the fact that they may encounter "war with all the rest of the world."

A fire has burnt a third of the city and "there is at present an embargo on all shipping in this harbor."
