Intends to visit the War Office in London and discuss stores in New York with the Navy board. "The Admiral informs me he knows not of any Convoy for Canada; has just received a Report from the Agent that Eleven of the Principal Rebel Prisoners made their Escape from Prison last Night." NB: The crew of the Massachusetts Privateer Brigantine Rising States were the first Americans imprisoned at Forton Prison in Portsmouth, England, following their capture on April 5, 1777, by the HMS Terrible. They attempted to escape five days after their arrival in mid-June.
