“Provision return for one Indian and two Squaws four days commencing the fifth and ending the eight inst [sic.] invlusive.” Includes the equation of “3 Indians 4 days 2 Rat[ions] per day = 24 Rations.” Statement that the three individuals were owed 24 rations of flour and beef. Signed by Assistant Quarter Master Art[hu]r Stewart and Adjunct General John Mills. N.B. Stewart and Mills were serving under General Anthony Wayne.

Requesting an interpreter and advice regarding the near-fatal beating of a Native American; partly drunk, the man entered a home an attempted to kill a man with an ax. He "was prevented by one Reubin jones who has beat the savage so unmercifully that his life was dispaired of, I issued a warrant for Jones but he is fled." he fears that the Indians might retaliate if the wounded Indian dies.
