The Research series, 1959-2004 (0.7 linear feet) contains information on various research projects done at the Botanical Gardens. Included is information from various biology and botany classes that researched the gardens as well as personal research projects done by people outside of the university. Personal research topics are organized alphabetically by the name of the researcher.

The Audio-Visual Material series, 1985-2003 (2 linear feet) contains primarily videocassette tapes, but also audiocassettes. Most of the material is from various years of the Ann Arbor Flower and Garden Show. Also included is a videocassette containing the episode of HGTV's Great American Gardens that featured the Matthaei Botanical Gardens.
