The Leo Sarkisian VOA Music Library Tempo Records series consists of a single sequence (incomplete, with some duplicates) of LPs published by Tempo Records International in Hollywood, California, along with magnetic tape and CD duplicates of some LPs. The recordings span the period from the early 1950s to the early 1960s. The series includes 47 LPs, and 11 open reel tapes, and 12 compact discs, arranged by media type and thereunder numerically by catalog number (TR 7xxx) or alphabetically by name. The LP recordings partially document Leo Sarkisian's recording work for Tempo prior to joining the staff of the Voice of America. The series includes ambient sounds and drumming recorded in various locations across sub-Saharan Africa and Afghanistan. Inventory lists provide detailed descriptions of items in this series.
