The papers document Michelle Engler's efforts in support of volunteerism, including the records of various charity boards she sat on or chaired. Her "Event" files include briefing materials for each of the listed events. Her "Casework" subseries contains a sampling of the efforts of the Office of the First Lady to respond to constituent's needs by connecting them with resources, or recognizing their achievements. Within this subseries, the "Vision Meeting" file is particularly interesting as it documents an effort to revise the First Lady's role and image. Her "Photographs" subseries documents the public life of the First Lady, but does not attempt to record her private life.
