Margaret "Peg" Stace, 1966-1979

Margaret A. "Peg" Stace consists of a small file of biographical information and post-Maddy correspondence, 1966-1979. Following her retirement as Board Secretary in 1973, much of her letters deal with inquiries about the history of Interlochen and its records. The Chronological Camp files includes her earlier correspondence (1941-1966) while the Boards Trustees contains information on both her earlier and later roles, especially as Board secretary, 1967-1973. When Maddy grew increasingly preoccupied with expansion, she assumed much of the responsibility for maintaining contact with organizations, especially women's groups, which traditionally supported Interlochen, so researchers will also find her correspondence in Subject Interlochen "Organizations."

George Wilson, 1958-1978

George Wilson, mainly 1958-1978, consists of biographical/professional information and Interlochen administrative records, most of which he personally selected for placement here. A small file of materials concerns his service as Interim President (1970-1971), and others deal with his association with Presidents Joseph Maddy, Karl Haas, and Roger Jacobi. The great majority of the records consist of correspondence, minutes, reports, and similar items on the operation of the National Music Camp, 1957-1979, especially its challenge system. Information is also supplied on the development of similar music camps abroad, particularly in the Philippines. On his directorship of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, 1957-1961, researchers should consult Subject series under Madd "Civic Music" and on his leadership of the Camp, Haas and Jacobi in this series and the Boards Trustees series. For his oral history reminiscences of Interlochen, they should check the Sound Recordings series.
