The University Units series consists largely of printed materials (brochures, annual reports, etc.) and correspondence and reports on the teaching, curriculum, and funding of graduate courses. The series is subdivided chronologically (reflecting the multiple accession in which materials were received) but there is temporal overlap among the subseries. Each of the subseries is arranged in five sub-subseries: Branch Campuses (Dearborn and Flint), Centers, Institutes, Interdepartmental/Interdisciplinary Programs (IDPs), and Schools and Colleges. The IDPs subseries is particularly interesting for the light it sheds on the emphasis on interdisciplinary education and research.
