These materials were donated to the library by Gunnar Birkerts in 2015, at the age of 91 years. He has kept these documents in his own home-studio in the Boston area through the decades because the folders contain information which has been very valuable to him. The Personal Correspondence and Files folders contain letters from architects, publishers, clients, friends and family members, materials which he has valued and saved through his entire career. In these folders, researchers will gain a persepctive on his personal and professional relationships, which enriches our understanding of the architect's life and achievements.
Each folder, when material is not obvious by title, is accompanied by with a brief note describing folder contents.
