Gebhard, Lieutenant and Pay Master of the Grenadier Bataillon de Mengen, signed this partially printed document for the receipt of 871/2/2 subsistence money for a body of Brunswick troops, held prisoner in the Province of Massachusetts Bay. Imprint beginning "RECEIVED of DAVID THOMAS, Esq; Deputy-Paymaster of His Majesty's Forces in North-America," Docket: "Expedition to Rhode Island."
