Photograph album compiled by Harry Nareski of Wyandotte, Michigan, documenting his time in the Civilian Conservation Corps Camp Au Sable in Grayling, Michigan. Contents consist of images of men engaged in recreational activities such as football, swimming, and wrestling, men working at the camp, and family snapshots. Also present is Nareski's Certificate of Discharge from the C.C.C. Includes 59 photographs and 1 piece of ephemera. Volume 21 x 31.5 cm.

Anton Crnkovich's Civilian Conservation Corps and World War II photograph album, ca. 1935-1945

Volume 144, Tinder Albums [Tinder A.2.1935.2]

Photograph album compiled by Anton Crnkovich of Calumet, Michigan, documenting his time in the Civilian Conservation Corps Camp Kenton and Camp Jumbo in Kenton, Michigan (1935-1937), as well as Camp Wells in Cedar River, Michigan (1938-1940). Also present are images taken in 1940 of Company A 107th Engineers Michigan National Guard 32nd Division (the "Red Arrow Division") from Escanaba, Michigan, and 2nd Army maneuvers at Sparta, Wisconsin; Camp Beauregard and Camp Livingston in Louisiana; and Beaumont, Texas. Captions provided often make use of casual humor. Of note are pictures of military equipment and artillery, local women and girlfriends, a Valentine's Day tribute from 1941, Southern tourist attractions such as Mississippi River steamboats and the Sugar Bowl at Tulane University, and a series of bridge construction views. A commendation letter written to Major General Clarence R. Huebner from General Courtney H. Hodges on May 9 1945 is also present. Includes approximately 260 photographs and 1 letter. Photograph album compiled by an unidentified young man documenting his time at two Civilian Conservation Corps camps: Camp Ogemaw in West Branch, Michigan, and CCC Camp 1609 in Illinois. Contents consist of images of men at work and posing for group portraits as well as views of camp buildings, construction projects, landscapes, military-style drilling, and deer (both alive and dead following a hunt). Contents consist of images of various projects the engineer was involved with such as the Soo Locks, General Motors Tech Center, and the Ann Arbor sewage treatment plant as well as several unidentified sites. Personal photographs of parties, holidays, weddings, and family trips to various places in Michigan, Canada, and the eastern United States are interspersed throughout. Many images have captions on their versos. Includes approximately 410 photographs. 29.5 x 28.5 cm.

Photograph album compiled by an unidentified woman based in Waterford, Michigan. Contents consist of images of various family members, several women in graduation attire, houses captioned "Our house on Voorheis Road" and "Bark River house," the family dog, soldiers, "Grandfather's grave," a fishing trip in Bayport, Michigan, picnics and parades, and a prize winning horse. Other locations/topics represented are Jackson and Cascade Falls in Michigan; Lake Manitou, Taylor University, and Rochester in Indiana; a nursing station in Hawaii; and a Cass Avenue, Detroit bushing factory in which at least one woman appearing in the album seems to have been employed. Photograph album containing images of an ROTC Summer Camp held at Camp Custer in Battle Creek, Michigan, in June and July of 1941. Images include weapons training, building of foot and pontoon bridges, U.S. Army vehicles, camp life scenes, and soldiers. Also present are aerial images of Battle Creek, images of soldiers in Camp Picket (Virginia), Camp Nix (New Jersey), and French Morocco, and a cloth patch showing a white shield surrounded by a red band with a blue star in the center.
