Upjohn Company souvenir album, 1955

Volume 082, Tinder Albums [Tinder A.1.1955]

Souvenir folding envelope album containing photomechanical reproductions of images of facilities, machinery, and operations of the Upjohn Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Envelope mailed on March 3rd 1955 to "Mrs. R. B. Ornstein" in Spokane, Washington, from Kalamazoo. Also present is a pasted note reading "Mom, I'm fine. Have just finished the Upjohn tour, leave for Chicago tonight. Will try to find time to write you a letter. Love, Russ." Includes 14 photomechanical prints. Item 10.5 x 15.5 cm.

Photograph album related to the Goodsell, Smith, and Peck families of Pontiac, Michigan. Contents consist of portraits of men, women, and children (including a heavily retouched portrait of a young girl). Several photographs are labeled "Jessie E Goodsell," while the name "Jessie" is also embossed in gold on the front cover, likely indicating that Jessie E. Goodsell was the album's original owner. Also present is a portrait index page with identifications as well as a Kings of Israel and Judah chronological chart published by S. W. Powell in 1883 that lists Biblical kings from Saul in 1090 BC to Zedekiah in 590 BC. Includes 26 cartes de visite, 2 tintypes, 13 cabinet cards and 1 piece of ephemera. Volume 29.5 x 23 cm.

Photographs related to the Briscoe family of Detroit, Michigan, compiled into a modern notebook by David V. Tinder. Contents consist of portraits of various family members as well as printed out biographical and genealogical information including references to a car produced by automotive pioneer Benjamin Briscoe in Jackson, Michigan, and an earlier Benjamin Briscoe who assembled and operated a Baldwin locomotive in 1839 on the new Detroit & Pontiac Railroad.
