Writings
The Writings series documents Cope's work as an author. This series is made up of four subseries: Books, Short Works, Handmade Books, and Journals. Materials are arranged topically.
The Books subseries consists mainly of material for Cope's book-length, published work, although it may also include some smaller manuscripts. Types of materials range from various stages of drafts to proofs, galleys, and related correspondence. Also included are a small number of published editions (primarily Nada Press mimeographs).
Short Works is comprised of Cope's shorter, primarily unpublished, pieces of poetry and prose. Work in this subseries ranges from assemblages of handwritten drafts of single poems to computer printouts of essays.
Handmade Books are short, unpublished pieces, often with added illustrations, which Cope created and presented to friends and family members.
The Journals subseries contains various literary journals and notebooks that consist both of draft works and notes, as well as lecture notes from when he attended Western Michigan University to pursue his M.A. Also included are Cope's personal planners from 2005 to 2011. Further notes and lecture materials from Cope's education can be found in the Teaching and Education Materials series.
