The poets and writers collection includes letters written by Gwendolyn Brooks, Etheridge Knight, Nikki Giovanni, Audre Lorde, and Dudley Randall. The most prolific correspondents were Gwendolyn Brooks and James Emanuel. The General Correspondence subseries is arranged chronologically.
