The Acquisition, Financing, and Sale Agreements subseries consists of bound volumes of legal and financial documents relating to various business investments. The volumes document Taubman's acquisition, financing, and organization of the Irvine Company; the acquisition, financing, and restructuring of Sotheby Parke Bernet Group; the acquisition of A&W Restaurants; and the acquisition of Phoenix radio stations by the Broadcast Group.

The Irvine Company subseries documents the 1977 acquisition of the Irvine Ranch by Taubman and his investing partners, and the management of the property from 1977 to 1983, when Taubman sold his interest. Materials include financial statements, business plans, agendas and minutes of the board of directors and committees, correspondence, clippings of news articles, and printed material, such as brochures of residential developments.
