Steam boat travel; descriptions of flora; mentions of Kalamazoo County and Chicago. Jones' son in Milwaukee works for the Surveyor General; he was called away to districts on the "black hawk or Rather the Sauk and fox purchase." [Original located in the American Travel Collection]
